Norbert Michelisz

Norbert Michelisz, born on August 8, 1984, is a highly accomplished Hungarian auto racing driver. Best known for his successes in touring car racing, Michelisz has carved out a prominent career on the international stage. In 2019, he clinched the coveted World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) title, a significant milestone that underscored his talent and dedication. Adding to his impressive resume, he also secured the 2023 TCR World Tour championship, further solidifying his status as a top-tier driver.

Michelisz's journey to the top began in domestic series, where he demonstrated his racing prowess early on. He was the champion of the Hungarian Suzuki Swift Cup in 2006, and he followed that up with a victory in the Hungarian Renault Clio Cup in 2007. These early successes paved the way for his entry into international touring car competitions. In 2008, he participated in the Hungarian SEAT León Supercup, finishing as runner-up, and also competed in the SEAT León Eurocup, where he won a race at Monza.

His performance in the SEAT León Eurocup opened the door to the FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Over the years, Michelisz has become a household name in touring car racing, known for his aggressive driving style and consistent results. Driving for various teams, including Zengő Motorsport, he has secured multiple race wins and podium finishes in the WTCC and later in the WTCR. In recent years, Michelisz has been associated with Hyundai Motorsport, driving the Elantra N TCR in the TCR World Tour.
