Mehdi Bennani, born on August 25, 1983, is a Moroccan racing driver who currently competes in the TCR Europe series with Sébastien Loeb Racing. He began his racing career in karting, where he clinched the national championship in 2001, laying the foundation for his transition to touring car racing.
Bennani's career highlights include racing in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) with various teams such as Exagon Engineering, Wiechers-Sport, and Proteam Racing. Driving for Proteam Racing, he secured his first WTCC victory at the Shanghai round, marking a significant milestone in his career. In 2020, Bennani won the TCR Europe Championship with Comtoyou Racing.
Throughout his career, Mehdi has achieved the distinction of being the first Moroccan driver to win an FIA-organized world championship race, solidifying his place in motorsport history.
