Markus Flasch

Markus Flasch, born in Austria in 1981, is a figure known more for his leadership roles in the automotive industry than a traditional racing career. Although details of his racing history are limited, it's known that he is a passionate car enthusiast and a racing driver, with a particular fondness for drifting. He even participated in the final lap of the 2021 ADAC TOTAL 24h-Race Nürburgring in an M Town Racing Team M2 CS Racing car.

Flasch's influence in the racing world comes primarily from his executive positions. He joined the BMW Group in 2015 and quickly rose through the ranks. He served as the head of BMW M GmbH, where he oversaw the brand's growth into a leading supplier of performance and high-performance cars, including the fusion of BMW M GmbH with BMW Motorsport. During his tenure, BMW M made a clear commitment to customer racing and club racing, further expanding the brand's presence in motorsports.

Since November 1, 2023, Flasch has been the Head of BMW Motorrad. He's also served as Vice President at ACEM (the European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers). His leadership is expected to further expand BMW Motorrad's leading position, and he has expressed a personal interest in BMW potentially entering MotoGP in the future.
