Marcel Fässler, born on May 27, 1976, is a Swiss former professional racing driver. Known for his versatility and precision, Fässler achieved significant success in various racing disciplines, most notably in sports car racing. He spent a significant part of his career with Audi Sport Team Joest from 2010 to 2016, partnering with André Lotterer and Benoît Tréluyer in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). This formidable trio secured three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2011, 2012, and 2014) and clinched the World Endurance Drivers' Championship in 2012.
Before his success in sports car racing, Fässler competed in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) from 2000 to 2005, initially with Mercedes-Benz and later with Opel. He consistently performed well in DTM, achieving multiple wins and podium finishes. In 2006, Fässler transitioned to sports car racing, quickly establishing himself as a top contender. Besides his Le Mans victories, he also won the Spa 24 Hours and achieved success in other GT and LMP events. Fässler's career highlights also include an overall victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring in 2013.
