Shunji Okumoto

Shunji Okumoto is a Japanese racing driver who began his motorsport career in radio control racing, showcasing early talent and a passion for speed. Transitioning to full-size racing, Okumoto quickly proved his abilities, culminating in a Super Taikyu Series ST-2 Championship victory in 2024 with KTMS.

Okumoto's career also includes participation in the Toyota Gazoo Racing Driver Challenge (TGR-DC) F4 academy in 2023, sharing the track with other emerging talents. This experience honed his skills and provided a valuable foundation for his subsequent racing endeavors.

In 2025, Okumoto is set to make his debut in the Super Taikyu Series ST-X class with TKRI, driving cars prepared by the same RS Fine workshop as Goodsmile Racing. This move signifies a significant step forward in his career, marking his entry into a highly competitive category.
