Mücke began his racing journey in karting before transitioning to Formula BMW ADAC, where he clinched the title in 1998. He further honed his skills in German Formula Three, securing the runner-up position in the championship in 2001.

In 2002, Mücke stepped into the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), driving Mercedes-Benz cars for teams like Rosberg, Persson Motorsport, and his father's Mücke Motorsport. He later transitioned to sports car racing in 2007, competing in the FIA GT Championship, Le Mans Series, and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He initially drove a Lamborghini Murciélago R-GT and later a Lola for Charouz Racing Systems.

Mücke's career gained momentum when he became an Aston Martin Racing works driver in 2008. He participated in various racing series with Aston Martin cars, including the Le Mans Series, where he consistently achieved top-ten finishes in the LMP1 class.
