Sébastien Dumez, born on June 27, 1974, is a French racing driver with a career spanning several decades. Dumez began his motorsport journey in 1984, initially competing in single-seater categories such as Formula Renault and Formula Ford. He progressed to the French Formula 3 Championship, securing a seventh-place finish in 1998.
In 2000, Dumez transitioned to GT racing, quickly establishing himself as a formidable competitor. In 2001, he won the French GT Championship with Larbre Compétition. He further demonstrated his skill in the Porsche Carrera Cup France, clinching overall victories in 2002 and 2003. Dumez has participated in prestigious international events, including the European Le Mans Series, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the 12 Hours of Sebring. Throughout his career, Dumez has accumulated impressive statistics, including 23 wins, 72 podiums, 9 pole positions, and 15 fastest laps in 225 starts.
In recent years, Dumez has continued to be active in the racing scene, participating in the Porsche Carrera Cup France and other GT events. In 2015 he won the Championnat de France FFSA GT. Driving a Porsche 911 is common for Dumez; however, he has also raced a Ligier JS P3 and a Porsche Cayman GT4. He has four overall wins, seven class wins, and one FFSA GT Championship title as of the end of the 2015 season.
