Michael d'Orlando

Michael d'Orlando is a 23-year-old American racing driver from Hartsdale, New York, currently competing in the Indy NXT series with Andretti Cape Indy NXT. His ultimate goal is to secure a full-time seat in the NTT IndyCar Series, viewing Indy NXT as the crucial final step in his career progression. He is also pursuing a Business Marketing degree at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

D'Orlando's racing journey began at the age of six in karting, where he achieved considerable success, winning multiple national and international championships. Transitioning to race cars in 2017, he quickly made his mark in the USF2000 Championship. In 2022, he clinched the USF2000 Championship title in a dramatic come-from-behind victory, showcasing his persistence and skill. In his four years of full-time competition in the USF Pro Championships series, he never finished outside the top-4 in a championship. Prior to race cars he was also a multi-time national and international karting champion and culminated his karting career as a factory driver for Birel ART in European karting championships and FIA World Karting Championships.

In 2023, d'Orlando competed in the USF Pro 2000 Championship with Turn 3 Motorsport, finishing fourth overall with four wins. His consistent performance and ability to secure top positions have established him as a rising talent in the American open-wheel racing scene. D'Orlando is also the only driver in the USF program's history to ever earn back-to-back sweeps in the Lucas Oil Freedom 75. In 2024, d'Orlando completed six event weekends in the Indy NXT by Firestone series with Andretti Cape Indy NXT motorsports, and showed impressive performances with top-6 results in his part-time program and is working to return to the series for the 2025 season.
