Canaan O'connell

Canaan O'Connell is an American racing driver, carving his own path in the motorsports world. As a second-generation racer, with his father being the legendary Johnny O'Connell, Canaan has been around racing his entire life and is making a name for himself.

O'Connell has secured an Unlimited Class Championship in the NASA Time Attack Class, highlighting his skills in time attack events. He has also proven his mettle in the Pirelli World Challenge, competing in the GTS and TCB categories. In this series, he has achieved notable success, scoring 7 pole positions, securing 9 podium finishes, and claiming 5 race wins. In his Pirelli World Challenge debut at Utah Motorsports Campus back in 2016, Canaan showcased his talent by securing a second-place finish in his very first race. Beyond his racing achievements, Canaan also works as a driving instructor and racing coach, passing on his knowledge and expertise to aspiring drivers. He's also worked as an instructor at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving.

In 2018, Canaan had the unique opportunity to share a Robinson Racing Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R with his father, Johnny O'Connell, at the Pirelli World Challenge GTS SprintX race at Utah Motorsports Campus. This marked the first time the father-son duo had ever driven together in a race, creating a special moment in both of their careers.
